EveKit Shutting Down Effective 2019-12-15

UPDATE: As noted in the Eve forums, EveKit will actually be shutting down on 2019-12-15 as that is when our SSL certs expire.

All,

I regret to announce that EveKit will be shutting down permanently effective 2020-01-01 (and I'm also retiring from EVE Online).  I've been running EveKit on and off for the last seven years or so, and have been an EVE player for even longer.  It's been a great run, but it's time to move on to other things.

Here's the TL;DR:

  • The site will continue to function normally until 2020-01-01.
  • I will be enabling daily CSV dumps again for those that want a copy of their latest data.  You can download the latest data for an account by selecting that account on the Accounts tab (look for the cloud download icon).  Note that these dumps are your latest data, not your entire history.
  • After 2020-01-01, the main site will shut down as well as the following APIs:
    • Model data - https://evekit-model.orbital.enterprises/api/swagger.json
    • SDE - e.g. https://evekit-sde.orbital.enterprises/20190911/api/ws/v20190911/swagger.json
    • Reference data - https://evekit-ref-model.orbital.enterprises/api/swagger.json
    • Market data - https://evekit-market.orbital.enterprises/swagger
  • If you have been using EveKit's historic market data (as described here), that will also shut down but not immediately.  It will go down shortly after the new year, but the exact date will not be announced.
  • All source code will stay on GitHub (https://github.com/OrbitalEnterprises) for the foreseeable future.  It is a somewhat complicated site to run, but if you want to try to get it running yourself feel free to drop me a line.
Thanks to all the EVE players who gave EveKit a try over the years.  I hope the service was useful.  Take care and fly safe.

Sal

SDE 2019-06-25 released

We've released the 20190625 SDE at https://evekit-sde.orbital.enterprises/20190625/api/ws/v20190625/swagger.json.  You can access the SDE directly through that link, or go to the SDE section at https://evekit.orbital.enterprises.

If you're using the "latest" alias (https://evekit-sde.orbital.enterprises/latest/swagger.json) then you'll automatically be using the new SDE.

IMPORTANT: the volumes table (invVolumes) is not quite correct in this release.  Steve's conversion failed to create this table properly and we haven't had time to fix it yet.  Rather than delay the release, we decided to push the 20190625 release using the invVolumes table from the 20190529 release.  We will post again once we have this table fixed

Important SDE 2019-05-29 update

The recent Invasion deployment had a bug in portion size for exotic plasma charges.  These are type IDs 47924,47928,47932,47885,47886,47887,47925,47929, and 47933.  The bug made the portion size such that it was very lucrative to buy exotic plasma ammo, reprocess and sell the output (too much reprocessing output was provided for the given portion size).  CCP disabled reprocessing for these types while they worked on the issue.

CCP fixed this bug as of downtime on 2019-06-03 changing the portion size from 1000 to 5000 for these types.  Reprocessing is thus now possible for these types.  I have manually fixed these portions in the 2019-05-29 SDE provided by EveKit.
